Bullish Nancy insists he is not worried about dismissal yet supporters show anger following defeat.
The Celtic boss declared he had no concerns about dismissal, claiming, “The team is extremely close to things turning around,” even after edging perilously close to the exit with a heavy setback against Rangers.
Another Capitulation Results in Old Firm Disaster
The home side were ahead the visitors at the break but a disastrous second period let the Gers to move level on points with the current Scottish Premiership champions. The former MLS manager, who was appointed from the MLS, has now been in charge for six losses in his last eight games.

“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. So this is the truth for the moment. However when I say this is the reality, I am not saying that I am a defeatist guy. Absolutely not. My point is we are really close, extremely close to turn things around.”
Nancy’s Persistent Belief
Nancy remains focused on the fact his team play well for a half at a time. For instance, if not for wastefulness in front of goal they might have been better than 1-0 up. “There were positives except the fact that we missed a second goal,” he said. “I accept that we lost, but I have also to be objective.
“The performance we had at times was of top quality. This is the reality. And I would not talk like that if it was different. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I mentioned it's a repeating pattern. Which is why I said that a change is coming to things turning around. But for the moment: details, details, details.”
“I saw plenty of positives that we did, like today again. But now is consistency. My narrative would change the same. That’s why I am convinced the team can to fix this.”
Röhl’s Cautious Stance
Rangers manager was cautious about a championship push despite what appeared to be a huge result. “Step by step, and we can really build up something here,” he said. “The faith in the squad is immense.”
