19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a former number one, has had a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's first trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet defended 4 early-game break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
