Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

Details of the Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Charges

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

• 15 counts of sexual assault.
• Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
• Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
• 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
• 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
