Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season and following recent talk regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the number of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

But it proved good to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted during a show that the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in favourable down and distances.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass all over, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can throw precision throws over the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defense has to cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and I think the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. He can really develop him how he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, which is a solid position to be in their division. The key is to continue this path.

They excel at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends on what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
