Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
