Patrick Bamford is now a member of the Championship side only half a year after starting insulting songs targeting the team's coach, Wilder.

This experienced striker, without a club after departing from Leeds, has agreed to a agreement joining the second-tier club in difficulty until January. His seven-year time at Elland Road finished by mutual consent this past summer.

Among the player's last memorable actions as a Leeds player included starting abusive songs about Wilder amid the club’s success festivities in April. Now, the former England international will be playing for Wilder as Sheffield United's boss aims to pull his beloved club away from the relegation zone.

Previous History Between the Striker & Wilder

Both men had a past prior to Leeds won promotion back to the Premier League last season while Sheffield United were defeated in the promotion decider to Sunderland. The manager described Bamford as “a muppet” back when the situation was different in 2018-19 and Sheffield United secured automatic promotion while Leeds United missed out in the promotion playoffs.

Making Amends & Looking Ahead

Everything appears to have been forgiven and forgotten with Sheffield United, the Championship’s lowest scorers, urgently requiring of a boost in attack and Bamford aiming to resurrect his playing days.

The song about Wilder went viral in April. An apologetic Patrick and the Leeds manager, Farke, phoned Wilder the following day.

Chris Wilder said at the time: “Spoke with Pat yesterday and I have no problem at all with that. I'm uncertain about the language from a fellow pro! However I appreciated and admired him calling me.

“We spent 20 minutes and the same again I talked with Daniel as well and we had a half-hour chat with him and he's a great person, a class act. When I was playing we used to dish it out and take it and that’s an integral part of football across all levels, including a Sunday morning. I have absolutely no issue. I am cool with it and I said that to Pat.”

Bamford made 18 games for Leeds in the previous campaign however the former Nottingham Forest, Chelsea & Boro striker has faced difficulties with fitness issues over the past few seasons.
