Recent Details Surface Regarding the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Remains

New information has come to light regarding the untimely demises of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

A Initial Report

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

Upon entering the home, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had gone with her promptly called 911. Afterward, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Additionally refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
